DAVID
RUTOLO has thirty-five years
experience in research,
product development,
manufacturing, and technical
marketing support in the
pharmaceutical and
nutritional industry. He
earned his PhD in organic
chemistry at the University
of California at Irvine and
a JD from Western State
University, College of Law.
In addition, he holds a
Certificate of Completion in
FDA Law from the University
of Southern California.
David is Director of
Research and Development for
IdeasOne and Wellcorps
International, where he is
responsible for
co-research/formulation and
development activities
ensuring the ingredients and
compounds selected for
various formulated and
manufactured products are
compatible and synergistic
for their intended usages
and throughout the
production process.
Additionally, David's wealth
of manufacturing experience
in a wide variety and range
of delivery vehicles ensures
every formulation meets or
exceeds the highest of
quality control standards
with unparalleled
consistency and excellence.
David is a major contributor
to the American functional
food and high-profile
bottled juice market
segments, and he continues
to develop health care
products specifically
designed for the
international marketplace.
Through a number of private
development associations, he
consults and formulates
nutritional products for
Asia, Europe South America
and Australia.
David was a Cofounder of
Micelle Laboratories, Inc.,
where he served for over 20
years as Executive
Vice-President and as a
Board Member. The firm
provides pharmaceutical and
nutritional product
development and
manufacturing in an FDA
drug-licensed facility. As a
formulator, he developed
unique functional foods,
nutritional supplements,
skin care formulations,
veterinary formulas, and OTC
products for a wide variety
of domestic and foreign
companies. At Micelle, he
pioneered the development of
micellization, a specialized
and patented delivery system
to enhance the absorption of
fat-soluble substances,
which is widely utilized by
organizations in the
production of nutritional
and skin care preparations.
Prior to that, he served as
Vice-President and as a
Board Member of Anabolic
Laboratories, Inc., a
pharmaceutical and
nutritional manufacturer.
There he was responsible for
manufacturing and marketing
specialty nutritional and
OTC products exclusively to
health professionals in the
United States, Canada and
Australia. In this capacity,
he developed a number of
unique delivery systems,
including beadlet
time-release formulations.
Over the past 30 years, his
research has included
kinetic studies of ester
hydrolysis rates;
investigation of organo-sulfur
chemistry; modification of
anti-cancer agents; studies
of the biological activity
of indoloquinones; new
methods of synthesis of
anticancer compounds;
carbon-13 analysis of
reactivity of new organic
compounds; effects of
magnesium orotate; oral
(sublingual) absorption of
vitamin B12; studies of
orotate minerals; studies on
sustained-release
water-soluble nutrients;
development of enhanced
absorption formulations of
fat-soluble substances (micellization);
micellization methodology
for beta-carotene and other
fat-soluble nutrients;
micellized vitamin A ester
formulations for topical
applications; clinical
evaluation of micellized
retinyl proprionate in the
treatment of skin
conditions; dosage forms and
quality control methodology
for shark cartilage in human
clinical trials;
particle-size determination

JORDAN is Department Chair
and Professor of Integrative
Health Studies at California
Institute of Integral
Studies (CIIS) in San
Francisco. Dr. Jordan is a
clinical medical
anthropologist,
international health
journalist, behavioral
medicine specialist, and
registered nurse with over
30 years experience.
She is a one of the most
recognized names in health
and wellness reporting with
international columns,
weekly TV and radio
newscasts, and she is a
popular keynote presenter.
Known as the Global Medicine
Hunter, Dr. Jordan searches
for healing remedies
throughout Asia and South
America. Called a health
trendspotter by USA Today
and Newsweek, she has been a
media commentator for CNN
and FOX and NBC's Today
Show. Author of five health
books, she is also
editor-in-chief and founder
of American Fitness
Magazine.
Her research on integrative
medicine focuses on healing
circles comprised of
practitioners of varying
disciplines, philosophies
and licensure. Meg presented
to the White House
Commission on Complementary
and Alternative Medicine
(CAM), and her research on
four emergent theories of
healing disciplines was
featured in a PBS-audience
presentation and DVD. As a
cardiac rehabilitation
specialist, Meg helped
create the nation's first
hospital-based wellness
center in Los Angeles, and
as a trustee, helped
establish the award-winning
wellness center at Valley
Care Health System in
Pleasanton, California.
Meg serves on several
boards, including the
National Wellness Institute,
Access to Health Experts,
and the Calistoga Institute

She was Director of
Integrative Practice at the
Health Medicine Institute

syndicated columns
throughout India and Asia,
and she hosts her own radio

SALLY
BLAKE LAMONT is a
naturopathic doctor,
acupuncturist, and educator
who has devoted the last
twenty-seven years to
practicing and teaching the
principles of healthy
living. She blends the
science of naturopathic
medicine with the ancient
wisdom of traditional
Chinese medicine. In
addition to maintaining a
private practice in Corte
Madera, California, she
teaches at San Francisco
State University in their
Department of Health
Education.
As prior Executive Director

Naturopathic Doctors
Association, Dr. LaMont

DR.
BEVERLY RUBIK is
internationally renowned for
her research in and breadth
of knowledge of alternative
and complementary health
care. Her main areas of
interest include the subtle
energetics of living
systems, especially the
human energy field, as well
as other whole-person
approaches to health and
healing.
She has published over 80
research papers and two
books. Dr. Rubik presently
serves on the editorial
boards of four peer-reviewed
professional journals:
Journal of Alternative &
Complementary Medicine;
Evidence-Based Integrative
Medicine; Integrative
Medicine Insights; and
ReVision. She has served on
the advisory boards of many
distinguished organizations,
including the Program in
Integrative Medicine at
University of Arizona under
Dr. Andrew Weil.
Dr. Rubik was one of 18
Congressionally-appointed
members of the Program
Advisory Board to the Office
of Alternative Medicine at
the US National Institutes
of Health (NIH) from
1992-1997. There she chaired
the NIH panels on
electromagnetic medicine and
manual healing. The Office
of Alternative Medicine at
NIH was the precursory
organization to the National
Center for Complementary and
Alternative Medicine. While
working there, she served on
the editorial board of the
first major governmental
publication on complementary
and alternative medicine:

In 1996, Dr. Rubik founded a
nonprofit corporation for
research and education, the
Institute for Frontier
Science (IFS). In 2002, IFS
was awarded an NIH center
grant for frontier medicine
research in consortium with
researchers at the
University of Arizona. Dr.
Rubik was a project director
in this consortium and
conducted studies on Reiki,
a form of Japanese spiritual
healing, and on qigong
therapy, a healing practice
that originated in China.
More recently, Dr. Rubik has
published chapters in
textbooks on alternative and
complementary medicine,
including Mosby’s
Complementary and
Alternative Medicine: A
Research-Based Approach,
newly revised and updated in
2008; and a chapter in
Volume 2 of Psychology,
Spirituality, and Healthcare
published by Praeger in
2007. Dr. Rubik is currently
conducting wellness research
on Wellcorps International
nutritional products with
human subjects.
Dr. Rubik has been a
university professor for
nearly 30 years. From 1979
to 1988, she served on the
faculty at San Francisco
State University and from
1988 to 1995, she directed a
progressive center on the
frontiers of science and
medicine at Temple
University in Philadelphia,
Pennslyvania. Presently she
is an adjunct professor in
Integrative Health Studies
at California Institute for
Integral Studies as well a
member of the integrative
health faculty at Saybrook
Graduate School, both in San
Francisco. In addition, she
is core professor in the
pre-cohort doctoral program
in Interdisciplinary Studies
at Union Institute and
University, Cincinnati,
Ohio.
Beverly Rubik also maintains
an holistic health practice
and serves as health
educator to individual
clients at Health Medicine
Center, an integrative
health clinic, in Walnut
Creek, California. Dr. Rubik
is a popular keynote
lecturer at both
professional conferences and
public events, and has
appeared on television
programs throughout

Dr. Rubik’s training
includes a B.S. in chemistry
